DAISIES

My childhood friends and I used to play a guessing game with daisies, “He loves me, he loves me not,” pulling off a petal with each repetition. Sometimes we tore apart a dozen daises before we got a “verdict” to our liking – a very self-centered game and sad fate for the daisies now that I think about it!

For those who put their faith and trust in Christ, the “verdict” is secure. God loves us and His word is always “Yes”!

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” … and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us. (2 Cor. 1:20, 22, NLT).

Sometimes we don’t understand or recognize or want to accept the “when” and “how” of God’s “Yes.”  By the way, God's "Yes" is much broader than getting answers to our prayers. It's about His all emcompassing Love.

Ultimately, God’s “Yes” is about spending eternity with Him.

Today when I see a bouquet or picture of daisies, I rejoice that God loves us and that His word is “Yes!” …but the greatest picture of His love is the Cross!
