WHO IS KNOCKING?

Nothing is too small to bring before God’s throne of grace, even mundane situations such as misplacing car keys or a missing cell phone. As I think about all the times God has helped me when I have called out for help, I understand that God wants to fill every aspect of our lives with His presence, His mercy, and His abiding love.  Often, I have unknowingly had a picture in my mind of God sitting far away behind closed doors with me persistently knocking to get His attention. What an unworthy picture of His goodness!

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). Jesus is the one knocking!

When I open the door of my heart to Him, I discover that His Spirit is already here with me, and that He wants to be the “all in all” of my life.  

Come, Lord Jesus!
